Title: EXPORTS AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN TANZANIA: 1970-2017 |
Authors: Ali A. L. Kilindo ,Tanzania |
Abstract: The study investigates the role of Exports in Economic Growth in Tanzania by testing The
Export-Led Growth Hypothesis (ELGH). To obtain robust non-spurious regression results
Dickey- Fuller (D-F) and Phillips-Peron (PP) Unit Root tests are performed. Further, Johansen
Cointegration tests are employed to investigate long-run relationship between export, imports
and economic growth. The Johansen test suggests a long run relationship between exports in
general and manufactured exports in particular and economic growth. In addition, the ECM
model results further support a long-run relationship between exports and economic growth in
Tanzania during the period of study in support of the ELGH |
