Abstract: Analyzing the impact of FDI on the economic growth of developing countries has been the
subject of extensive empirical research which termed as a description between developed and
non- developing countries our study examines the impact of foreign direct investment on the
economic growth of West African countries in a range of years using the random effects, fixed
effects and Gaussian mixture model method. Empirical results show that FDI has no positive
impact on economic growth across the sample. Recent years have had a the positively significant
impact on the economic growth of West African member states and the effect of Foreign direct
investment on the economic growth of four most significant countries in terms of gross domestic
product and per capita gross domestic product is positive hence complements research explaining
the economic growth of West African countries |
