Abstract: The main objective of the study is to determine factors affecting the job satisfaction of staff and
lecturers at universities in Ho Chi Minh City. In order to achieve the research objectives, the
author conducted direct interviews with 289 staff and lecturers at universities in Ho Chi Minh
City through a prepared questionnaire. The results of testing the hypotheses of the research
model have been shown that there are 07 independent variables arranged in descending order of
impact that have a linear relationship with the dependent variable – The job satisfaction of staff
and lecturers at universities in Ho Chi Minh City includes Job characteristics; Training and
advancement; Colleague; Leader; Income; Benefit policy; Working Condition. Based on the
research results, the author proposes some management implications to improve job satisfaction
of staff and lecturers at universities in Ho Chi Minh City in the next time.
